[tweetmeme] Many of us, once in the routine, enjoy going to the gym or working out at home. It allows use to unwind from the day/week and it is a great way to relieve stress which has built up, all while being healthy, burning fat and building muscle. But, one very important rule is to never overwork yourself. Getting into a nice routine of going to the gym is a good thing, but don’t think you’re not allowed to take breaks.

Try to exercise and workout during the week and on the weekends you can take a break from going to the gym and spend time with family by going to the movies, playing outside, hiking, fishing, whatever you want to do. But come Monday, get right back into your routine. By going to the gym or working out at home during the week and resting on the weekend is a great routine to have, not to mention by resting on the weekends you’re more likely to stick to your routine.

The benefits of training regularly is proven, however for your hard work to have a long term effect that your looking for, you must learn to take breaks and kick back and relax. By never resting and just working working working, you will be in more trouble down the road.

Take a break, it’s a good thing!
